Razors meet the iPod

I shave twice/three times a week.

One, because the wife likes my stubble and two, because I look like a gimp without any growth on my face - a babyfaced, moon headed fuckwit - fresh faced and innocent.

This fact renders shaving a very important- nay, vital - part of Fakey's grooming routine and being a sucker for the 'new', nearly every month I try some shit hot arrival on the mens toiletry aisles from creams to 'hard-wear' like razors.

I've tried the Gillette vibrator razor yokey and it's Wilkinson Sword equivalent: both produce amazing close shaves but both make you feel like a bit of a twat, a lazy twat at that, with their low level hum, you can feel like a total fool holding one of these yokes to your gob in the haze of a Monday AM. That's why after running out to buy nearly every new razor with the words 'Xtreme' 'Mach' and 'Turbo' in their branding that have been released over the last few years, I was hesitant to invest in more hype but the resolutely analog razor 'Azor' from King of Shaves has totally won me over and is my favorite new grooming product this year - I've bought three of them .

Let's deal with the superficial stuff first: being a design junky, it looks fucking cool. Unlike the big, bulky, neon clad chin vibrators, the Azor is the razor Apple would have designed - it's restrained, sleek, understated and doesn't scream Gillette orange at you every morning.

Then there's the shave - okay it's not as close as the vibrator razors but it's very, very near the same standard - it's a one stroke wonder it's close without feeling like your surgically removing your skin. It's unique action makes it feel a lot more natural and smooth.

Did I mention it's cheaper then the Vibro-boys Toys? Nuff said.

Doesn't shave *just* under my nose, and encourages in-growing hairs.
I love king of shves syuff, but mach3 is the razor to have.

hi, due to the design, the under the nose technique takes a little getting used to, re ingrown hairs, to be honest, it certainly shouldn't cause them, or worsen them - however, changing from a 'softer' mach3 blade that wears out quicker to our 'harder' endurium blade will mean your skin needs to readjust. appreciate your feedback though, we have lots of improvements planned...

Yeah Will, had the same problem initially myself - there's a little retraining required, particularly because the razor is much much lighter in the hand - but I still think it's a superior piece of kit. and I like not having to shell out every two weeks for blades.
